Donations from Friends

The Library Board accepts a check from the Friends of the Bastrop Public Library at a City Council meeting in the Fall of 2006. The check for $278,000 was raised by the Friends of the Library to support the expanded library building with new furniture and shelving. The Bastrop Public Library is supported with enthusiasm by the Bastrop County community. The staff of the library and the Friends of the library would like to recognize and appreciate our major contributors.

Dorothy Barrick Crawford Leaves $10,000 to FBPL
- January 2007

Dorothy Crawford moved to Bastrop from Houston in the late 70s. She became deeply involved in the community, helping establish the Bastrop Historical Society. She was also a member of the the Friends of the Bastrop Public Library (FBPL).

Crawford's cousins, Anita and Dick Barrick of Austin, presented the check to Library Director, Mickey Duvall and FBPL President, Michal Hubbard on January 8, 2007. Friends' executive committee will work with Duval to determine how these funds will be used to benefit the library.
